Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology is challenging traditional displays -including LCD and VFD – by delivering a combination of benefits. And now a new company, Ritek, has joined the race with the introduction of the first volume product, a passive monochrome 400x400mm substrate aimed at the PDA, home appliance and portable instrument markets.

Ritek will be able to offer monochrome, multi-colour and full-colour flat panel OLED displays and is the first manufacturer with a fully automated mass production OLED line in the world.

With OLED displays expected to become first choice in many new application areas, Ritek has begun to work with key partners in target markets and has linked up with Selectronic Ltd, based near Witney in Oxfordshire, to develop their interests in the UK.
