 With the number of options there are in
the market for mounting LEDs, it would be fair to assume that the
market would be satisfied. However, it has become clear that these
current solutions are sold as an off the shelf item which rarely exactly
meets the specific needs of an individual application or market.
The concept of sub assemblies, where
LEDs are loaded into holders that are then assembled to give the
precise configuration, colour orientation and type to meet the
application, is a concept only truly embraced by Selectronic.
LEDs can be stacked in large, one
piece assemblies that can then be dropped on to a PCB, assuring
perfect alignment with an even optical appearance and rapid placement.
This flexibility allows for customers to specify what is exactly
required, rather than trying to select from a catalogue the nearest
option to what is ideally required.
This concept of packaging LEDs to
ensure QA and performance is not restricted to the axial type
product. Now applications call for SMD LEDs to be placed accurately
and mounted on rear mounted sub boards that can be parallel fixed
for high accuracy front panel alignment.
